Assistant Producer
Linda Yelnick was born and raised in San Francisco, where her love of rock music and KSAN began in her teens. She and her friends spent Saturday nights at The Fillmore, Winterland, and the Carousel Ballroom seeing the bands she first heard on the radio. After earning a BA and teaching credential from SF State and enjoying several years as a teacher, she followed her passion into the music industry, managing local indie artists.

Linda has served on the Board of the SF Chapter of the Recording Academy and worked on Summer of Love SF (2007) and West Fest SF (Woodstock, 2009). She is a member of West Coast Songwriters, Broadcast Legends, and NATAS, and a devoted fan of music documentaries. She met longtime ABC7 anchor Dan Ashley while serving on the Board of the Bammies Music Foundation and now proudly manages his music career. She is honored to be part of this film and can’t wait for the world to see it.

Assistant Producer
Debbie Sommer has loved music for as long as she can remember, starting with her first AM radio—shaped like a baseball—and later discovering KSAN on FM. Inspired by Scoop Nisker’s mantra, “If you don’t like the news, go out and make some of your own,” she began blending her music, live-event, administrative, and library skills as a UC Berkeley student, working in the campus library and at Bill Graham Presents concerts.

Debbie went on to work as a librarian and with BGP, Shoreline Amphitheatre, and numerous music and film festivals, including the SF International Film Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, WOMAD, ToddStock, the 40th Anniversary Summer of Love, and West Fest Woodstock. She continues to work and volunteer for music and film events, SFFILM, KALW, and Todd Rundgren projects. A strong believer in community and connection, she is an active member of KALW, SFFILM, Shack15, Balanced Breakfast, and other organizations.

Social Media Director
Denise “Demise” Dunne fell in love with radio and music through her first transistor radio, a passion that deepened after attending Woodstock and interning for Bob Fass at WBAI in New York. She moved to San Francisco in 1975, working with Haight Ashbury Community Radio and the Straight Peoples Theatre Company, which led to roles at the SF punk club Mabuhay Gardens as producer assistant, sound tech, and archivist for the New Wave Record Chart.

In 1978, Denise began an internship at KSAN and was soon hired to produce public affairs shows, entertainment listings, organize the music and concert tape library, and serve as audio tech for the Live Broadcast Remote Crew. After KSAN was sold, she worked as second engineer on the radio documentary Guitar: A Rock Episode and continued as a live broadcast engineer and DJ at KUSF, KEST, and KALX. She later served on the Board of Bay Area Women in Music, managed Western Public Radio, and co-produced Global Vision Radio.
In 1983, she founded D-sound Productions, an event coordination and DJ service. Her event and fundraising work includes In Concert Against AIDS, the 30th–40th Anniversary Summer of Love concerts, SF Pride Parade, and the Frameline Film Festival.

Senior Producer
Kenny Wardell

Kenny Wardell Sr. was adept at working both sides of the radio fence. He was a promo man for RCA Records and was enough of a radio nut dating back to his times at KZAP in Sacramento that he managed do fill-ins on KSAN. He went on to do stellar promotional work for KMEL, then KFOG. He then got into television, at KTVU, and sports, working with the 49ers and with the NFL Pro Bowl before returning to radio, at KCBS.
